Jigawa State Government has declared Thursday, 20th August 2020 a Public holiday in the state to mark the beginning of the Islamic New Year, 1442 After Hijrah (AH)
This was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, Head of the Civil Service, Ismaila Ibrahim Dutse issued to DAILY POST.
The statement said the Governor congratulated Muslims faithful in the State and around the world for witnessing the New Year, which commences in the month of Muharram, the first, in the Lunar Islamic Calendar.
He, however, urged the People of the state to reflect and live their lives based on the teachings of Islam and practice of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Badaru urged all Public Servants and the entire people of the state to pray to God for continued protection and guidance, peace, and the economic prosperity of the state and Nigeria.
