North Korean leader, Kim Jung Un, has replaced Prime Minister, Kim Jae Ryong.

Ryong was elected in April 2019.

The reason for his sack has not been made public.

Un has appointed Kim Tok Hun to the post, state media reported on Friday.

The economics expert in his late 50s was also appointed a member of the steering committee.

This was during the politburo meeting late on Thursday.

The politburo is the highest organ of the ruling Communist party’s central committee.

Kim Jong Un is chairman of the State Affairs Commission, the highest decision-making body in North Korea.
