The announcement which was shared by the Chairman of the Presidential Task Force on Covid-19 in Nigeria, boss Mustapha, who explained that the President has finally approved school resumption.
However speaking more on the resumption schedule, he added that not all students are eligible to resume back to schools as the approval is not meant for all students.
He added that only students in their final year are allowed to return to school and that this was in a bid to allow them write their final examinations.
Recall that the bid proposed by most states and organizations were, for the FG to approve the resumption of Final Year students to write their examinations, while other students stayed back at home.
This was then considered by the Federal Government’s planning committee which decided that the bid will be approved and only final years students are allowed to resume.
This has then narrowed the resumption of students, allowing only students in Basic 6, Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS3) and Senior Secondary School 3 (SSS3) to resume.
Therefore students who are not members of the mentioned class can not resume yet, as they were not included in the Federal Government’s resumption plan.
